Add a Guestbook

There are dozens of guestbooks and honestly I get confused with them because many don't work, some are too unpractical and some I've seen hacked. They are not bad but good ones are hard to find. They can create a nice little community atmosphere to your website.

Guestbooks are good for those free web hosts with PHP support too but I still recommend getting a real web host.

How to Create a Guestbook?

The best guestbook I could find was Ardguest. It's number one listed on Google so not hard to find... get Ardguest from here.

1) Open the index.php in the guestbook package with a plain text editor like Notepad and edit the variables.

2) Upload the guestbook files to your web host, change the permissions of the ardgb18.dat file to 766 (chmod command) or non-Unix/Linux way said, full permissions to you and write to others.

3) Test it and enjoy.
