Add Better Graphics to Your Website

Better graphics freshen up any website but if added too much, they make the loading times suffer. You may have noticed that this website doesn't contain many images, that's because I prefer saying things with text.

Statistics say that 8 seconds is the average limit visitors are ready to wait for website's loading. Personally, I'm out of there in that time.

    Saving Images

You may want to save a good image you found, this is how to do it.

    1) Right click on the image, a dialogue box should appear.

    2) Click on "Save As" or a similar button.

    3) A window should appear, type in a name and click save. Make sure you chose the right location on your computer to save to.

    Finding Graphics

    Free Graphics

Weird that when searching for free graphics pages, it's relatively hard to find good ones. These are what I found:

    Free Graphics World

Nice collection of page elements like buttons, banners etc.

    Clipart

All kinds of clipart, photos have theirwaterstamp on them.

    FreeGraphics.com

A directory to all kinds of small graphic websites.

    Gifs.net

    Over 13,000 animated gifs

    FreeFoto.com
    FreePhotosBank.com
    FreeDigitalPhotos.net

    All kinds of photos.

    Non-Free Graphics

Even more weird... looking for photos mostly brings up those free sites, only a few paid image services were found.

Photos.com is one of the few but still the best photo offering services out there. The prices of individual photos may go up to the heavens but the images are ultra sharp quality.

One month subscription is $99.95 so you could try that and download all the photos you can like in a lunch buffet.
