    Split Testing

What is split testing? It is testing something with two version of it. When one version appears to be better in something than the other, you go ahead and try to improve the weaker one so it wins the better one.

This can be implemented into websites, creating more and more efficient versions of something eventually leads to top performance and profit, of course.

    Split Testing AdWords

Write multiple competing ad variations - To make this work, you have to shut down the option for showing the better-performing ads. This can be done via Campaign Summary>Name-Of-A-Campaign>Edit Campaign Settings. There you switch from the "Optimize" option to "Rotate: Show ads more evenly".

Now write two variations of an ad and wait for about 80 clicks. That's enough for statistical truth. If the ad number 1 has got 20 clicks and ad number 2 has 60, it's obvious that the ad number 1 should be altered. Do some minor changes around the ad because they can make huge difference and see if it's getting more clicks than the other one. Then alter the losing ad again. Do this whole circulation over again to the end of the world.

As I said, little changes can make a huge difference, some things can really change the way people read the ad in their minds. Never forget this!

    1) Change the order of words, especially in the title

    2) Turn . to ! or to , or remove it.

    3) Change the capitalization of the words, try writing "a, the, to" in lowercase.

    4) Think of more possibilities!

    5) Try TYPOS in your ads. Why? Because of typos, they "stimulate" people's nerves more and the chances to get a click is higher. There are actually studies that show this is true. Take a look at this grammatic error:

    -All the 7 products
-All a 7 products <--This is the one with the error (ok, bad example but in the name of example, I'm showing this)

    6) Think outside the box! - Think not only from your perspective:

-What are the problems people would solve with your product?
-Why are they searching for your product?
-What can I tell them in the ad to get them hooked?

    Split Testing Website

Oh yes, you can even split test your website. The basic mechanism is simply that you create a copy of the original web page and change some little things in there like position of your ads or headline words or anyting. Then you need a script that send visitors to page A and B evenly.

Unfortunately I haven't managed to find any free and good one on the same time. Split Run Test costs $47 but is recommended split testing software. It gives you analysis about the things that attract and don't attract. If you are already making any revenue from your website, I really would say that you should try split testing the pages for possible additional profits.
